Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Bibiana Vidal Curell went on to live and study in Brussels, obtained a Degree in Sociology and worked in social services as a catholic nun for many years in Argentina... until she realized that she was holding on to a life that really was not for her. In 1999 Bibiana began painting professionally.
Bibiana's muse resides in still lifes, landscapes and animals. Having spent her summers in the Argentinean prairies, she came to love country life and capturing it on canvas. Canada became her home in 2006, and the Canadian landscapes now provide that inspiration.
Her paintings, primarily oil on canvas, have a raw energy, a sense of calmness and an intimate and spontaneous character that brings to mind any number of the masters she reveres. She characterizes her own style as expressive impressionism.
